Knit Pixie Hat

I couldn’t believe how simple the pattern was for this knit hat.  And it’s free!

I love having a big family that give me constant excuses to work with yarn!!  My cousin is having a baby and sent me a photo of the most adorable hat to make.  Baby knits are literally the best ever, so I was super eager to make it!  Unfortunately I don’t know have little kiddos at home to take cute pics of the hat with, so my daughter’s doll will have to suffice.

Now, I’ve crocheted forever but I just started knitting a few years ago (self-taught).  I can follow patterns and figure out basic stuff, but I am not skilled enough to look at a photo and know how something knit is constructed.  I barely understand how shaping works!  So I stared at the photo and was super confused.  Then I did what any sane person would do – I searched Google and Pinterest and Instagram until I found a pattern!  And guys, once I made it, I couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was!

Here’s the pattern: https://knitting.livejournal.com/75126.html

It was posted almost 20 years ago – these kinds of things just don’t go out of style!  I followed the pattern exactly, using Paton’s Kroy sock yarn in Flax.  My test knit worked up so quickly that I made a second one on the same day.

I hope you enjoy this pattern!  Many, many, many thanks to Ms. Crafty Galore for sharing.

Happy Crafting!
