Inspiration

I wanted to whip up something cute for my kiddos for Valentines day.  I’ve had some cotton stashed for a while and haven’t made anything with it in a while, so I grabbed it and decided to make some cloths for them.  My kids LOVE the bath and these were a big hit when we had our baths on Valentine’s day!

I realize this post is a week too late for Valentine’s day but there’s always next year, it’s never too early to plan ahead!

Materials

  • Worsted weight (or any weight you’d like) cotton yarn, I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton
  • Crochet hook: I used a 4.5 mm hook
  • Tapestry needle

Pattern

This pattern uses a Corner to Corner (C2C) crochet technique.  You can find good instructions for it on the Craftsy blog here and check out Repeat Crafter Me video instructions below:

Use the C2C technique to generate the heart pattern based on this chart:

Then sc around the edge, doing 3 sc in the corner.  For my cloths I did 2 rounds of sc edging, sl st into first st of the round and fasten off.  Weave in loose ends and enjoy!

I have a really cute pic of my kids using this in the bathtub but I blocked out their pics because… well… they’re kids and they’re in a bath.  Trust me, they’re adorable!
